It started with a whisper.

Real stuff my dad says.

"Okay, so about this monkey...I'm concerned that if we have him out with the chicken the whole time, we will lose some of the novelty."

hand in the Hand.

In the beginning, consuming the shadows, we abandon privilege as well as restraint. We kick and cluck in the dust for nights on end, believing ourselves pioneers. With nothing new under the sun, dawn reveals the shackles as we are slaves to our own pride. Fight to keep away from the light so as not to examine too closely. But the Sun is hot and it is late.

Thinking myself the cleverest of all, I purposed to lasso the sun. My motivation was fair enough but I miss the mark on it's essence. My steps were not meant to be ordered by Me. A different plan was unfolding and I failed to recognize.

From my view, stubbornness of pride is no reward but inevitably brings one back to the place from which they originated because that was just a practice run. Get ready because it may be twice as hard as it was meant to be this time around.

In His mercy, He does not fail to recognize Whose I am, regardless of my unfaithfulness. Although not that good of a person, I find blessing beyond what I ca…

To a heart that's true.

Naysayers, beware. You can't keep a lovin'man from loving.

Lovin' Large. Lovin' Gracious. Lovin' Earnest. Lovin' Tender. Tapping into the Lovin' Source and Loving On Purpose.

He does what he does and can't nobody stop him. Costumed, crowd diving boldness. Going rogue with hustle and real talk. There's a show to make and bills to pay.

Sacrifice? Check.
Dues? Check.
TCB? Check.
He's a wee bit radical, but, not without integrity and that's respectable from any vantage point.

Morning, noon and night finds him living out his innermost to the outermost while he seeks to become who and what he was created to be, grateful always for the opportunity to live fully.

A talent is a vessel, unique with complexity known to God alone, delivered as a gift overflowing when offered up for His Glory.

That's the essence of a Lovin' Man. Decluttered and detailed, his layers reveal the renewal of a not that good of a heart to start.

Naysayers, behold: …

NTGOAP: Shameless

• I suppose it's too troublesome to pop in on one's blog with a comment or two.

• Must be or else the folks would at least opt for the anonymous option down there.

• Then leave a little notey and sign off at the end.

• With their name or something.

• Or even one might repost or retweet a blog or two if one was into that sort of thing.

• But, really, that's too, too much.

• I could never be notthatgoodofaperson enough to make such requests.

• It would be shameless and not that good at all.

• It's sad, really, the way some folks need this meaningless silliness of virtual validation.

• I have to say; I do pity that type.

 • DON'T YOU? .

Beat your crazy head against the sky.

You can be as mad as you wanna be but I'm insisting, not waiting, for you to understand that respect is a verb and not just an abstract concept.
You can be as mad as you wanna be but some things are just not okay. Some things are foul no matter Where or Who.

You can be as mad as you wanna be but I do what I want to. And I want to do what's best for you. No matter the What or Why or How Come.

You can be as mad as you wanna be but I've seen your kind before. There aren't many tricks left.

You can be as mad as you wanna be but, if it's wrong, it's wrong. Even if your frontal lobe is underdeveloped. Even if you can't see through your current burden of hormones.

But it's okay if you think it's not fair because it's not.

It would be so much easier if you and I always saw eye to eye. Or if we always liked the same things. Or understood them in the same way. At the same time.

Because neither of us is that good of a person when it comes down to it. I…

Ain't gonna have it here.

Recently, a stranger over the phone struck up a conversation with me. It wasn't news to me. I'd seen her kind before. She was a transplanted northerner distressed over the situation in our city.

Why? she said, do we put up with it?

We duke it out in this gritty city because there is much to love. The hearty history of workaday men and women seeps from the pores of a culture built on dreams and determination. "Blues, Beale and barbeque" only scratches the surface.

The failure began generations ago with the shadowy enigma of inequality. And we haven't quite recovered.

"Believe", they say as I call and write to the powers that be to no avail. Why is this graffiti allowed on my street? What aren't these parks maintained? Why does this 'hood within miles of mine have speed bumps while we tidy up every week after trash collection? Paint over the tagging yourself only to find it fresh the next week. Pick up the trash and it falls again come the very…
